Our very own 404 error page is live

Hi

Just a line to let you all know that we now have our own 404 Error page at Horsley-Woodhouse.co.uk.

When our website was recently re-designed, courtesy of Fabulous Photo Gifts, the old website structure was replaced, however, until the search engines catch up with the changes, some searches are still returning old page links that no longer exist.

Sorry for the confusion if you were trying to access our website unsuccessfully, however, the new 404 error page will now point you in the right direction.

Cheers!

Pre-School Recipe - Spicy Cookies

SPICY COOKIES

To make these cookies you will need:
250g of plain flour
125g of softened butter
125g of sugar
1 egg (beaten)
2 teaspoons of mixed spice

Method:
· Pre-heat the oven to 190oC (gas mark 5)
· Mix the butter and sugar in a large bowl until light and fluffy
· Slowly beat in the egg, a little at a time
· Sieve together the flour and spice
· Mix this into the butter, sugar and egg mixture until you have a firm ball of dough
· Roll out the dough with a rolling pin until it is ½ cm thick
· Cut out shapes with a cookie cutter
· Place shapes onto a greased baking tray and bake for about 15 minutes
· When ready, leave to cool on a wire rack

Comments:
When the cookies have cooled, you can decorate them with icing, sweets, hundreds and thousands or anything else you can think of! We made them just before Christmas, using cookie cutters in the shape of Christmas trees, angels, holly etc, and threaded a length of ribbon through a hole in the top of each cookie, for hanging on the Christmas tree. You could make these cookies for any occasion by using different shaped cutters and by varying the decoration. They make an excellent gift for Mother's Day or a family birthday and the children really enjoy making them!

Pre-School Recipe - Silver Stars

4oz of castor sugar
4oz of butter
4oz icing sugar
1-2 tbsp of warm water
vanilla extract
1 egg
Silver balls cake decoration

Method:
Cream butter and sugar in a bowl.
Beat egg and vanilla and add to mixture gradually.
Stir in flour and mix to firm dough.
Knead lightly and roll out on a floured surface
Cut with star cutters and bake on greased tray, 15-20 mins, 180C
When cool, decorate with icing and place silver balls at star points.

Comments:
Very nice indeed! The children had great fun kneading the dough, although rather a lot of 'silver stars' were used.
